Summer Break

A Middle-grade Novel
Coming Summer 2027

June Parker thinks her life is perfect just the way it is. She lives with her mom Piper on a small island off the coast of California. June loves her routine and her cozy life with her mom – and is sure that this summer is going to be the best yet.

But everything changes when the Ortiz family – dad James and kids Greta, Brody, and Sophie – move to town. When June finds out Piper and James are dating, it threatens to upend her whole world.

Greta isn’t happy about it either. And so the girls decide to work together to split their parents up – a reverse Parent Trap. But nothing goes according to plan, and soon June and Greta are involved in ever-escalating plots, none of which are working…and are only bringing their parents closer.

It’s a summer of heists, fake pirate ghosts, accidental food poisoning, and unexpected dog adoption. But when one of their plans actually succeeds, June and Greta will have to reckon with the consequences. And they’ll realize that by trying so hard not to be sisters – they’ve accidentally ended up as friends.

But will June be able to make things right – before it’s too late?
